HEALTH ALERT: Important Coronavirus Update

As a leading provider of hospital and healthcare services caring for patients across the U.S., Puerto Rico and the U.K., UHS is monitoring and actively managing the effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

At this point, it is important to remember that most people across the U.S. have little immediate risk. For more information regarding the coronavirus, visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

If you need help deciding if you should seek medical care, access the CDC Coronavirus Self-Checker on the CDC COVID-19 Symptoms page by clicking on the Coronavirus Self-Checker button at the top of the page.

Hospital Services

At UHS, we employ an experienced team of healthcare professionals, who work tirelessly to ensure patients receive the best possible treatment and care. This is our passion, purpose and privilege every day.

To address the worldwide concerns regarding COVID-19, we are working closely with state-level Departments of Health, Hospital Associations, and the CDC to ensure we are utilizing the proper protocols to screen, triage and test patients for COVID-19.

We have multiple processes instituted including visitor screening, hand hygiene vigilance, use of personal protective equipment (i.e., gloves, masks and gowns), and cleaning and disinfecting protocols, that are in place with the sole intent to keep you, your family, our employees, medical staff, volunteers and vendors safe.

Community education programs may be canceled/postponed; please see event details and follow us on our hospital Facebook pages for updates.

Prevention

The CDC recommends individuals and families follow everyday preventive measures.

  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then dispose of the tissue.
  • Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 60–95% alcohol.
  • Routinely clean frequently touched surfaces and objects.
  • Stay home when you are sick with respiratory disease symptoms.
