KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., Sept. 23, 2022 — Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS) has announced the election of Nina Chen to its Board of Directors, effective September 21, 2022. This election expands the Board to a total of eight members.
Currently, Ms. Chen serves as the Special Projects Consultant for The Welcoming Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Philadelphia that promotes inclusive economic growth through immigrant integration. In this role, she acts as special advisor to the CEO, assists with development projects, and facilitates board recruitment and engagement. She has served in this role since 2013.
Prior to this, Ms. Chen was with Mercer for over 13 years, her last role as Partner in the Client Relationship Management group. Mercer is a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC), one of the world’s largest professional services firms in the areas of risk, strategy and people. During her time at Mercer, Ms. Chen managed global client relationships with major pharmaceutical, insurance, and healthcare companies; managed delivery of human resource consulting and human resource outsourcing projects; led team sales efforts and developed sales plans for the Mid-Atlantic region; served as Executive sponsor of the Mercer Women’s Network; was the Founder and Chair of Mercer’s Racial and Ethnic Diversity Network; and was a member of Mercer’s U.S. Diversity Council.
Prior to that, Ms. Chen held recruiting and consulting roles with The Salveson Stetson Group and The Hay Group. She served as Senior Associate, Tax and Employee Benefits Department for Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP, a multidisciplinary law firm located in Philadelphia.

Ms. Chen holds her Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Temple University School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Florida Atlantic University.
