UHS Opens Palm Point Behavioral Health

The new 80-bed facility expands access to inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment across the region.

TITUSVILLE, Fla., September 13, 2018 — Universal Health Services (NYSE: UHS) today announced the opening of Palm Point Behavioral Health, a new 80-bed facility that expands access to inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment across the region. While the facility will commemorate the opening with a ribbon cutting today, the hospital will begin accepting patients on October 8, 2018, and will continue to add programs and services over the coming months.

The facility’s dedicated child and adolescent unit and separate adult units will offer specialized treatment for individuals experiencing behavioral health issues such as depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis or substance use disorder. Another feature to be offered by the facility in the coming months is a mobile assessment team that will go into the community and respond to requests from local physician and therapist offices, urgent care centers, and school systems to provide no-cost assessments to determine if the patient should be recommended for treatment at Palm Point Behavioral Health.
