UHS ranks #268 on Fortune 500 list of America’s corporations by revenue

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., May 24, 2018 — Universal Health Services, Inc. (NYSE: UHS), one of the largest providers of acute and behavioral healthcare in America, is pleased to announce it has again elevated its ranking on the Fortune 500 list. This year, UHS ranked 268, up from 276 in 2017. The Fortune 500 list ranks corporations in the United States based on total revenue and is an industry standard in ranking America’s largest companies.

The Fortune 500 list is one of the most widely recognized corporate revenue ranking lists in the world, and this year marked the 64th publication of the annual ranking. UHS has been ranked on the list for 15 years and improved its ranking every year since 2011.

Methodology for the Fortune 500

Fortune ranks companies by their total revenues from the respective fiscal year. The ranking includes companies that are incorporated and operate in the United States and file financial statements with a U.S. government agency. Revenues figures for each ranked corporation are as listed and include any revenue from discontinued operations at the time of publication. The data shown is derived from the fiscal year ending on or before January 31, 2018. Unless otherwise noted, all revenue and other data figures are derived from the year ending December 31, 2017.
